Ramadan is a blessed month, filled with numerous opportunities for spiritual growth and self-reflection. Each of the three Ashras (ten-day periods) in Ramadan carries its own unique significance. The second Ashra, from the 11th to the 20th of Ramadan, is especially important for seeking forgiveness and mercy from Allah.

During this period, Muslims are encouraged to increase their acts of worship, including prayer, recitation of the Quran, and making dua (supplication). It is a time to seek Allah’s forgiveness for past sins and to ask for His mercy and blessings.

One of the most powerful supplications during this Ashra is:

“Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina azaaban naar.”

(“Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”)

As we observe the second Ashra, let us take this opportunity to strengthen our faith, seek forgiveness, and strive to be better individuals. May Allah accept our prayers and grant us His endless mercy. Ameen.
